A new Business Unit has been created within the SBM organization to bring offshore solutions to the growing Gas market (LPG, GTL, Methanol...) with a particular focus on LNG.

As the pioneer in offshore loading and offloading and owner/operator of the world's largest fleet of FPSO's, SBM intends to be a strong and reliable partner in the development of LNG projects. SBM focuses on the offshore gas export and receiving terminals. SBM's added value is in the implementation of innovative technical solutions that:

• Provide high levels of safety and availability
• Minimize environmental impact, facilitate public acceptance and permitting
• Reduce overall project costs and schedules

In order to achieve these objectives, SBM has capitalized on its unmatched track record in designing, building and operating offshore terminals and floating storage / production / offloading facilities, and has developed strategic partnerships and cooperation with key players in the LNG arena from the shipping, engineering and equipment supply fields.

Two main families of products have been developed to cover a wide range of project parameters:

• The Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU)
• The Cryogenic Offshore Offloading (COOL) and Loading Terminals

SBM is in a position to offer turnkey offshore terminal solutions for LNG either on an outright sales basis or, in the case of an FSRU, on a lease and operate basis.
